New Look appoints COO

The board of New Look Retail Group has appointed Nigel Oddy as chief operating officer, effective 1 April.

He was formerly chief executive of The Range, and prior to that, spent over 10 years at House of Fraser, as chief executive from 2015 to 2017 and chief operating officer from 2010 to 2014.

Executive chairman Alistair McGeorge, said: “His operational expertise and significant retail experience will be a great asset to the team as New Look continues to deliver on its turnaround strategy and reposition itself for future growth.”

Oddy joins the fashion retailer at a pivotal time, as it implements refinancing scheme, exits international markets and pushes on with a Company Volunatry Agreement that has resulted in store closures and job cuts.

He added: “New Look is a strong brand with 50 years of heritage and a great team – I look forward to being part of the business at this exciting point in its development.”

Poundland significantly reduces antisocial behaviour, aggression and shoplifting with Motorola Solutions VT100 body cameras
Retail should not be a high-risk occupation. As a company, we are focused on listening to our colleagues and customers to help them with the issues they are facing in-store and so far, the feedback on our body cameras has been excellent. They act as a great visual deterrent, help to de-escalate situations and overall, this project has significantly aided our goal to make the retail environment safer.
